A productive week off

Well, I have just had a very productive week off with less than 600 days to go untill I take early retirement. So we headed up to Bicester and Daventry to have a look at RV's. (recreational vehicle)The plan is to retire and go to the US of A and buy one and go travelling.

The above pictures are the type of thing that we would like to obtain.
 The plan is coming together, the money is coming together and the plan is on track. We met up with a lovely couple on Thursday who have already done what we are planning, Alan and Estelle, who have been there and done it, so much was gleaned from them it was a fantastic pleasure talking to them, we could have listened for hours.

Log cabin

Well it was the big "50" at xmas 2012.
I wanted to go somewhere special this year, so managed to get a week off of work and chose Ylas, in Finnish Lapland.
Kathryn tried snow boarding and I tried Skiing for the first time ever on Xmas day. It was a very cold place at -27 but very Xmasy and just what i had in mind. Happy 50th to me :-)

London

Just returned from 3 days up in London, stayed at the Carlton Hotel, near Kings cross station.
We went up to Camden town market, which is fantastic and also went to Buck house and watched changing of the guard.
Also went to Greenwich where Gill and Kathryn enjoyed the view of canary wharf.
A very pleasant 3 days!

Building work!

Well, it started back in June and is still not finished.
Tradesmen eh!
We decided to have a conservatory put on the back of the house and wanted to make the lean too at the side of the house a bit more stable as it was starting to collapse!
But.....the person i have got to organize it, i would not use again! His first estimate was 10 to 14 days, now even i knew that wasn't going to happen!!
So here we are in October and they are due to restart after a two week pause tomorrow.....i await with baited breath!!

Golfing

Just been out playing golf at Vivary park Taunton, (played rubbish!) Then spent most of the day sitting with Dad, who has terminal lung cancer.
He told me today he would like to know how long he had left to live, I know, but did not let on that i knew, he said he was going to ask next time he was in hospital.

Also went up to Bridgewater to see if my motorbike had sold...................yey it has, so i have a nice little cheque coming my way, now to see if i want to buy another motorbike, I'm not going to rush into it, weather is shite at the moment, so i may wait until spring who knows!!

Not been on here for a while, so long in fact i forgot it existed!
Well whats new in the life of the Waddup's, well, been on Holiday to Mexico and to Vegas which was very nice.
Did not like Vegas until we got a car and actually got out of the city, drove up to Pahrump and down through Death Valley (122 degrees!!) and across to Grand Canyon, long drive but nice.

I think i am going to start to use this a bit more.
